Monkey Beach, Phi Phi Don, Thailand

Taken with Nikon D60, dated Jul 2009

Located on the west side of Tonsai Bay about 700 meters from the beach, Monkey beach is a deserted tranquil beach. At very high tide there is not much beach but at other times there is about 20 meters of sand. It is pretty much on the day trip trail.

Besides, there is a flock of cheeky monkeys come down to the beach to be fed bananas and other fruit by tourists. You can take photos at a very short distance, but don't get too close, I had been attacked twice. Sweat! The snorkeling at the drop off around 50 meters from the beach is great.
